SPRING TRAVEL 7ON7 INFORMATION

The Strong Center is prepared to field 7v7 teams for ages from 8 to 13.

What is 7on7?

You may be asking..."What is 7on7 football?" 7on7 is a fun, competitive, non-contact way to play football. It is all passing and allows scoring both on the offense and defense (interceptions = points). The passing game in football takes a lot of time to practice and perfect--time spent during the fall season is often not enough to develop the timing and skills necessary. Spring 7on7 participation helps tremendously in this regard.

Who should participate?
Since this is a passing only, no rushing league, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, and quarterbacks are all that's needed to participate on offense. On defense, the typical pass coverage positions are needed--linebackers, cornerbacks, & safeties. No offensive or defensive linemen are used in 7on7, but we have had some athletic linemen make the jump to play tight end and linebacker in previous seasons. We encourage players that will be playing in the fall and those that played this past fall to participate. Any players that want to improve their skills in the football passing game are encouraged to join us!

What does the season look like?

  • Registration will open Sunday, February 13th.
  • Regular practices will start on Monday, March 29th, and we'll plan on practice twice per week on  afternoon/evenings for 2 hours between 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fuquay-Varina Elementary School Park.
  • The season would consist of tournament play (3 tournaments) with scrimmage/games locally (as available) through the spring.
